Trade Union Congress Commends Cane Farmers and Mill for Recent Agreement

The National Trade Union of Belize has commended the Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association and the Belize Sugar Industry for agreeing to an interim commercial agreement.  A release from the N.T.U.C.B. also recognizes the Government of Belize for its role in ensuring both parties acted in good faith during the talks, and notes the presence of the police department throughout the impasse and blockade. The trade union umbrella organization says it encourages both the cane farmers and the sugar mill to continue their constructive efforts to finalize a new commercial agreement that will benefit all parties.
