Accused rapist turned in by victim’s husband

Twenty-two year old mechanic, George Waight was arrested and charged with rape today. Waight, who was released from prison on April twentieth was captured and brought into police headquarters this morning by the husband of his alleged victim. According to police on June second a Salvadoran woman was washing clothes in her yard when a young man approached her whom placed a pair of scissors to her neck and ordered her upstairs. He allegedly raped her and then made off with a tape recorder. The woman saw her attacker three times after making the report and on the last time pointed him out to her husband who grabbed him and took him to the police station. Waight had been in jail for impersonating a police officer.
