Boom Road paving proposal
Two and a half years ago members of the Louisiana National Guard spent several weeks grading and improving the drainage of the 12 miles between Burrel Boom and Hattieville getting it ready to be paved. Now it seems the project may be completed if the World Bank agrees to assist with the finances. This morning Minister of Works Henry Canton presented Guillermo Ruan and his team of World Bank officials with a proposal based on a feasibility study conducted by Beca International of New Zealand. The group made an onsite inspection of the road which links the Western and Northern Highways this afternoon. A decision is expected in the next four weeks.
