San Pedro Police confiscate marijuana

Eleven pounds of marijuana was seized in separate incidents in San Pedro Ambergris Caye over the weekend. San Pedro Police visited Ruby’s Hotel on Saturday night and searched the rooms of Guatemalan Mario Annibal Reymundo and Salvadoran David Orlando Revello. About nine pounds of marijuana was found wrapped in plastic bags under a bed. The men, who are from Yo Creek in the Orange Walk district were arrested and charged with drug trafficking. Reports are the pair brought the drugs from Orange Walk via a local airline. In a joint operation with the BDF early Saturday morning. police visited a residence near the airstrip and surprised thirty-nine year old Wayne Sampson, a mechanical engineer of San Pedro Town. Inside the house they found a black bag containing seven small parcels of marijuana, a stone pipe, a bamboo pipe and scale. Along with Sampson was twenty-two-year old Stephanie Bood. Both Sampson and Bood have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
