Man gunned down in front of his home
There was a murder on the south side of Belize City on Tuesday night at about the same time the grenade exploded. It happened around eight o’clock and claimed the life of twenty-nine year old Windell Zelaya of four Allan Pitts Crescent. Zelaya was gunned down near a bus shed on Caesar Ridge Road right across from where he lived. Police say Zelaya was killed while talking to a security guard. His killers were apparently inside a gold Chevy Tracker that sped from the direction of the Central American Boulevard. The tracker, which had a shattered window, reportedly stopped as it reached the location and two men came out and fired at Zelaya, then got back inside and sped off. Zelaya was pronounced dead around ten-twenty that same night. His uncle, Windell Carcamo who preferred to talk off-camera, said he has no clue who would want his nephew dead.
