Agriculture and Trade Show this weekend
If you want to go somewhere for the long weekend and you are not sure what to do, well we just may have the event that your entire family can attend. The twenty eighth annual Agriculture and Trade Show officially gets underway on Saturday. This year there are a number of new items that have been added to the two-day affair. Organizers say they are pleased that there is a greater participation on behalf of the private sector and after a very long absence, the Mennonite farming community will also have their displays. Miss Agriculture will be chosen on Saturday and for the first time there will be an auto show. The event includes the Toyota Classic that will take the drivers through the jungles of the Cayo District to the show grounds. Children will get an extra treat with Pony rides. Organizers say they have also taken into account the usual concern visitors have about the extreme heat at this time of year and have attempted to provide some additional tents for shade. Secured parking is also being provided, for a small fee. Although there are added attractions this year, entrance fees remain the same: two dollars for adults and one dollar for children. The gates will be open on Saturday and Sunday from five in the morning ’til six in the evening. This year’s Agriculture and Trade Show will be held under the theme: “Agriculture, Everybody’s Business”.
