U.C.B. graduation Sunday
Graduation season kicks off this year with the University College of Belize’s twelfth commencement exercise, and although the future of that institution is not certain as yet, the graduation committee chairperson Jean Perriott says that this year’s ceremony will be the biggest and the best.
Jean Perriott, Chairperson, Graduation Committee
“This is the first time that we will be graduating people with Baccalaureates in certain areas. These areas are the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, the Bachelor of Science in Biology, the Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Science in Accounting and the Bachelor of Primary Education.
Our guest speaker this year is Zee Edgell, a famous Belizean writer and associate professor at Kent State University. As a matter of fact she is flying in today and we are looking forward to having her here. Our graduating class votes for the guest speaker and that is the person they want. This is the largest graduation class; we have approximately 200 students graduating.”
U.C.B.’s graduation will be held Sunday May twenty-third at three o’clock in the St. John’s College Gymnasium.
