An Ultimatum for Patrick Faber’s Resignation
In the latest U.D.P. leadership struggles, an ultimatum has been given to Collet Area Representative, Patrick Faber, to formally tender a letter of resignation from the post of leader of the United Democratic Party. This follows a meeting of the U.D.P.’s central executive on Tuesday evening, during which it was decided that an extension would be given for the disgraced politician to submit his notice. Faber, we are told, has until midday on Friday to do so. Should he fail to meet that deadline, the executive of the party has indicated that it will proceed with its business. That means that a tentative date has been set for March twenty-seventh for a leadership convention to be held. Thus far, Opposition Leader, Shyne Barrow, and Albert Area Representative, Tracy Panton, have expressed an interest in vying for the party leader’s seat.
