“We also made a  request, even though there was a process already initiated by one of our reps who engaged with the Ministry of Natural Resources, to look at the availability of lands for our members since so many of them does not have any lands. As you can see in the final M.O.U., that is not included in there, but it is an accompanying understanding and it is a process that is going to continue. We have one of our representatives who stunned me when we were having this conversation. He said, I have applied for lands sixteen times and I was stunned because I said, man  I applied three or four times I nuh gwen back again, why did you return sixteen times? Brother Whittaker right here, if you want his testimony, sixteen times. So, you see people, but you don’t know them. Don’t buy into superficial characterizations. You don’t know stevedores. Yes, they are boisterous. Yes, they are loud. Yes, they are raw. But, these are hard working human beings that represent a historical value to the community around them.”
