5 Injured, including 2 Women, in Antelope Street Shooting
Around six-thirty p.m. on Saturday, shots rang out on Antelope Street Extension in Belize City. When the echo from the blasts subsided, five persons, including two women, had been shot. Reports are Tyrone Teck, Kenyon Ramirez, Rochelle Reynolds and Garisha Tillett were near a yard when Robert Lamb walked by. A gunman opened fire on Lamb, but caught the bystanders instead. All five victims were transported to the K.H.M.H. for medical attention. Lamb has since been treated and released, but two remain hospitalised in stable condition.
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, Belize Police Department
“The information that we gathered so far is that the four persons, residents of that yard where the shooting occurred, two of them were walking in the yard and another two were stabbing at the entrance when Lamb passed by and a person known to them only as “Slim” opened fire at Lamb, hitting all five persons. They were transported to the K.H.M.H. and Lamb was treated and released along with two of the other victims.”

“Sir, so Lamb was the intended target of this shooting?”
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
“It would want to appear to be that way.”
Duane Moody
“Has anyone been detained as yet for this crime?”
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
“Well we have detained someone and believe that this person can shed some light on this incident. Our investigators canvassed that area.” All I can say for now is that Mister Lamb is no stranger to the law and we have seen where within a span of about two months, he has come under fire with his rivals in the street. So it is obvious that he has rivalries out there and it could be one of his rivalries.”
“Sir, so a gang affiliated shooting?”
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
“Well I wouldn’t want to go and say gang affiliated [shooting], but we are certain that he has direct enemies and I am certain that he knows who his enemies are.”
