Police officer charged with assaulting 13 year old girl
One week after a minor was allegedly assaulted by a trustee prisoner at the Belmopan Police Station, another incident of sexual abuse has surfaced, this time in Hattieville. And this time, a police officer has been charged with the crime. Reports are that back in February, the mother of a thirteen year old girl sent her daughter to look for the officer in charge at the Hattieville station. But the girl says that when she arrived only police constable Nicholas Flores was there. She claims he dragged her into a room and raped her. Although C.I.B. says Flores was to be charged with rape and carnal knowledge, he was only charged with one count of aggravated assault when he appeared in Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Flores was granted bail in the amount of five thousand dollars which he met. He is scheduled to reappear in court on June sixteenth. He is being defended by attorney Kirk Anderson. Last week a seven year old boy was allegedly assaulted by trustee Kirk Sedacy who was on remand pending trial for the indecent assault of a twelve year old girl in January. The boy was being kept at the police station after being found wandering in the market square. Sedacy fled after reportedly fondling the child and has yet to be apprehended by police.
