Shrimp Farmers Get Technical Assistance from U.K.

An aquaculture workshop was held Monday at the Tilapia Hatchery Center in Central Farm for shrimp famers. Aqua experts Grant Stentiford and Matthew Sanders from the United Kingdom facilitated. The pair is in Belize along with the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquatic Science (C.E.F.A.S.) to look at how aquaculture, fisheries, and food security can improve. C.E.F.A.S. will host a series of workshops for the productive sector and launch a program called the Ocean Partnership funded by the U.K.’s Blue Planet Fund during the visit.
