Much More Can Be Done for Cycling in Belize
Running for vice president on Cano’s ticket is Alexi Ordonez. Despite trying to revive interest in the sport, Ordonez says that much more can be done to meet the needs of cyclists at all levels of riding.
Alexi Ordonez, Vice Presidential Candidate
“If you notice, Cano said five years, but almost for the past, I would say like a decade, the Cattouse family and Kaya, herself, have been doing things for the development of very young cyclists. Just recently, my family, my dad and my brother and myself, we started a live streaming event where we highlight cycling, the coverage of the races, as well we highlight the cyclists. We review all the events from the past week. With that being done now, cycling is getting the attention that it needs and we believe, like Mr. Cano said, if we had the chance once again, we can do much more if we are actually in power. Now we are not in power and we are the people doing most of the things for cycling that need to be done.”
Tariq Cano, Presidential Candidate
“I really just want to appeal to the cycling community, you know, we’ve been fighting for you for the past five years, even more so. You know this to be true and we would really appreciate your support and see how we could best get cycling forward and now is the time. I know everybody likes to complain in the shadows but now is the time for you to join the revolutionary wheel and mek we mek the difference in the sport.”
