Imagine checking your bank balance and suddenly finding an unexpected deposit. Not just one hundred dollars, but one thousand dollars. That is exactly what happened to ten lucky Belize Bank customers as part of the bank’s raffle to encourage account holders to pick up their new Master Card Debit Card early. Belize Bank says its new MasterCard Debit Card offers customers secure transactions, less physical interaction and the spread of bacteria, as well as increased satisfaction. News Five’s Paul Lopez was invited to meet two of those winners and ask about their winnings and the convenience of the new card.

“I feel great. For the first time at least, you win something from the bank that you are actually banking with for over the past years.”
Hernandez and Paulino’s names were entered into Belize Bank’s raffle the moment they went to pick up their new card. With the one thousand dollars direct deposited to their accounts, these customers have been empowered to save and provide for their families.

“You know, like regular Belizeans, like we say, money never come too late. Money never comes too late. So, having it, using it, and then explaining to my other half that you know we have this money well, we can practice it and go to the store one time and see how it works, pay the bills online, you know, do certain things that requires the card.”
Belize Bank is reminding its customers who have not picked up their new MasterCard Debit Card to do so by the end of February as their Visa Debit Card will become inactive on February twenty-eighth. For these customers the new card offers real convenience.
