Suspect charged for murder of Bowen and Bowen employee

One of the first murder victims for this year was Bowen and Bowen employee Josiah Thompson, who was with co-worker Millard Tun, when they were attacked and robbed. Thompson was fatally shot in front of the Belize Bank in San Ignacio. Three suspects were detained soon after and released but tonight the news is that one of them, twenty-five year old Arden Garoy of the Water Supply Area in Punta Gorda, is now facing a slew of charges for the crime. Garoy was hit with one count each of Murder, Robbery, Attempted Murder and Maim as well as two counts each of Kept Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. The incident occurred on January fifth when Tun and Thompson were ambushed as they were making a night deposit for the company. Both men suffered gunshot wounds but Thompson succumbed to his injuries soon after while Tun underwent surgery and survived a bullet to the head. The other men that were initially detained were Delan Parham of Cayo and Elvis Duncan of the Toledo District.
