Chinese shop robbed, owner hospitalized
A twenty five year old Chinese businessman lies in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with a broken nose after he was attacked in his shop around nine thirty on Wednesday night. According to the police, Lue Xui Ming, proprietor of Ming’s Shop at number three Lakeview Street, was about to close his grocery store, when two men, one dark and the other fair, walked up, fired shots in the air and then pushed him back inside the store. One of the men then whacked Ming across the nose with a hammer. When Ming fell to the ground, the attackers searched his pockets and found two hundred dollars. The men took the money and ran off into the night. But police say because the robbers did not conceal their identities, they have a good idea who their suspects are. However, up to newstime the police have not detained anyone in connection with the robbery.
