Belize takes on Salvador’s National Team on Wednesday at El Salvador’s Estadio Cuscatlán. Today, the team, led by Head Coach Wayne Casimiro, told the media today that COVID continues to affect the team’s preparations.

“Some of our players that were to be here aren’t because of contracting COVID, so for us that would be our biggest obstacle, in terms of what I would call a setback for us. For me, we are ready to step on the pitch. It’s eleven versus eleven, and I don’t see setbacks, for us, it’s just COVID for me. We are ready to be on the pitch and to play.”

“Could you go a bit into the training that went into the preparation part of it?”

Wayne Casimiro

“Well, we were in camp prior to coming here and we did the basic elements that encompass football: the tactical, technical, the physiological aspects of the game and to ensure that our players are ready and understand what they are to do on the pitch.”
