Man shot by B.D.F. to face charges
Police continue to remain tight-lipped about the case of twenty-two year old Rodwell “Granny” Tasher who was allegedly shot by a B.D.F. Corporal during a police patrol on the night of Thursday, April twenty ninth. Today the young man was escorted to the Criminal Investigations Branch for questioning. Tasher, who has been in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital recovering from bullet wounds to his neck, chest and stomach, appeared weak and was holding the side of his stomach as he walked into C.I.B. offices. Details surrounding the incident remain sketchy and several attempts by News Five to find out what exactly unfolded that night have been unsuccessful. We were told by police that Tasher will be taken over to Magistrate’s Court sometime on Wednesday when he will be officially charged. But just what those charges will be remains unclear since the officer in charge of the investigation has yet to make a report. Police told News Five the day after the shooting that Tasher was shot when he wrestled with officers for a weapon. However, family members say the young man was chased and shot several times while he was attempting to flee.
