26 wardens for schools
School wardens have been hired to help with primary school security and to ensure that students are safer on their school grounds. The Ministry of Education has hired twenty six wardens who were given a one week orientation course on the challenges they will be facing. During the orientation the wardens met with general and local school managers, members of the Belize National Teachers’ Union, Urban Primary Principals Association, Police Zone Beat Liaison Officers as well as the Directors of NOPCA and the National Drug Abuse Control Council. The Ministry is asking the public to lend their support to the wardens who will be posted at all primary schools in Belize City.
