S.J.C. teacher to face charges

Story Picture
Reports reaching News Five say that thirty year old Carlos Milan, the S.J.C. Science teacher wanted by police for the alleged abuse of a seven year old girl turned himself into police. He will be charged with attempted rape and indecent assault. Sources tell News Five that on Tuesday Milan, who teaches Integrated Science at the high school gave his one o’clock class, then went to a home in Belize City where it is alleged he assaulted the child. According to the Criminal Investigations Branch, the girl’s mother reported that a student who boards at the residence came home a little bit early and walked in on the scene. Milan is reported to have fled, but turned himself in later that night with the assistance of a Justice of the Peace. He is reported to have denied to the J.P. that the incident ever took place and claims he is being framed. Police, however, tell News Five that the child has indicated that this is not the first time Milan assaulted her. A.I.P. Simeon Alvarez, Head of C.I.B., told News Five the minor was seen by medical examiner Dr. Mario Estradabran who confirmed that she shows signs of sexual abuse. Milan will be escorted over to Magistrate’s Court Thursday morning where he will be officially charged.
