“With the announcement of the news last night it was met with much cause for celebration, especially as it relates to the islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker and indeed across the whole area of Belize that pertains to or is involved directly with the tourism sector. For sure, it is a plus. It is a culmination of two years in this pandemic. I want to make clear that we are not out of the woods as yet and we need to remain cautious. But certainly, it translates into a big celebration. We are opening up more as we move to our busy season in tourism. We have to celebrate. It is all good. It is the right decision. A good decision made by the government and we know that it is high time to be competitive.”
