Acros player drowns
A well-known football player died yesterday during what should have been a cool swim on a hot afternoon. Reports are that twenty-eight year old Eldrid “Puntos” Gentle, who played for Acros and drove a taxi, went for a swim near the Municipal Airstrip in an area commonly known as the “Hanger” around 1:30. A witness told police it appeared that Gentle caught a cramp and went underwater. His body wasn’t found until 5:30. Gentle had been on the Acros team since the age of fifteen, playing as their mid-fielder. Tony Leslie, owner of Acros Football Team, told News Five that losing Gentle is like losing a son. He says that the team has now lost two mid-fielders within a year as Solomon Yohannis died suddenly in Africa seven months ago. Leslie says that Gentle was a great asset to the team and will be missed by all the members of Acros.
