B.N.T.U. Stands in Solidarity with C.W.U.

The Council of Management of the Belize National Teachers Union issued a statement today following their meeting over the weekend. The Council says members examined several matters including the bargaining unit for the stevedores, who fall under the Christian Workers Union. The B.N.T.U. says they condemn what they view as an attack on trade unionism in Belize. The release says the council has voted to support the C.W.U. by withdrawing union accounts, both those of the national and local district branches, from the Belize Bank Limited. They B.N.T.U. Council of Management say they also will be reaching out to the wider membership to discuss further actions.
