Two men charged for brawl on Orange Street

Story PictureA brawl and contradictory statements between two men has resulted in charges against both. The culprits are videographer Fortunato Noble and jeweler Ivorr Perez who, around ten-thirty Friday night, became embroiled in a fight. According to Perez, it was Noble who attacked him while he was walking on Orange Street. But Noble is alleging that he was walking down the street with his sixteen year old son when Perez suddenly assaulted him and a fistfight ensued. Noble says he got the better of Perez, which caused the wounds to the man’s face. But the scuffle didn’t end there as Noble says Perez attacked him again shortly afterwards as he was walking on Albert Street. The cameraman says he ran when he saw Perez had an eight inch blade, but the man managed to catch up with him and stabbed him to his back and leg. Both men appeared in court this afternoon; Perez charged with Grevious Harm and Noble with Wounding. Perez pleaded guilty to the charge but because he disputed some of the facts, Magistrate Sharon Fraser entered an equivocal plea of not guilty. Both men were released on bail and the case was adjourned until April twenty-ninth.
