Orange Walk businessman critical in Chetumal

Despite radio reports today that fifty-three year old Warren Gomez died after receiving a gunshot wound to his head on Thursday afternoon, Police tell News Five that as far as they know the well known Orange Walk businessman is alive but remains in a critical condition in a Chetumal hospital. Police also say that at this time they can’t say why Gomez was shot. They only know that shortly after three that evening, two men pulled up to Gomez’s residence in a pickup truck and Gomez went out to see who it was. The assailants then reportedly shot him in the forehead. Gomez was rushed to the Orange Walk Hospital then quickly taken over to Chetumal. At this time police say they are still looking for the pick-up truck and its two occupants.
