Former Minister involved in road fatality

Former Minister of Government Eduardo “Dito” Juan was in an accident this morning on the Western Highway. One of his companions was killed. According to reports reaching News Five Juan was taking two of his workers Martha Molino and Leopold Palacio to deliver meat to Belize City in his Toyota pick-up. At mile twenty-two Juan was attempting to overtake a dump truck, but another vehicle was coming in the opposite direction. Witnesses say Juan tried to move back behind the truck but his vehicle collided with it and both ran off the road. Juan and his two companions were immediately taken to the K.H.M.H. were Leopold Palacio was pronounced dead on arrival. Juan received a broken collarbone and other injuries. Molino received cuts and bruises and is still in the K.H.M.H. under observation.
