U.D.P. Ready to Select Its New Leader

In less than forty-eight hours, the United Democratic Party is going to have a new leader. Since the beginning of February, the party has been without a substantive leader; the post was made vacant when Patrick Faber resigned following yet another domestic dispute. And so, on Sunday, five hundred and sixteen delegates will choose between Mesopotamia Area Rep. Shyne Barrow and Albert Division’s Tracy Panton.

“It’s nothing earth-shattering. We had a leader who had resigned and so, under the party’s constitution, only eight people were qualified to put their names up to be elected leader. Honorable Shyne and Honorable Panton put their names up and so Sunday was the day set for the convention and on Sunday, the five hundred and sixteen delegates will go and choose the leader that they want to lead the United Democratic Party.”
