P.M. continues school computer program
While the children are enjoying their Easter vacation, the teachers are meeting in Dangriga at the twenty ninth Annual Teachers Union Convention. The Prime Minister Said Musa, who addressed the gathering, said that technology will be a crucial ingredient for meeting the challenges of the coming century. He says to help put computers in the nation’s schools the government is working with the Janus and Ashcroft Foundations with the goal of providing three hundred computers to primary schools. Teachers will also be brought up to date on plans for educational improvement which includes building ten new schools, two new centers for employment training and pre-school expansion to thirty communities. Additional funds are also being provided for adult and continuing education programs.
