Basketball star charged with drug trafficking

A man whose name is well known to basketball fans has been arrested for drug trafficking. Clinton “Pulu” Lightburn was taken into custody after he reportedly attempted to evade a B.D.F./police checkpoint at the junction of the Burrell Boom Road and the Northern Highway Wednesday night. Police say Lightburn’s red Isuzu Trooper was observed coming from the direction of Sand Hill and sped up when the driver noticed the checkpoint. After a short chase by police a parcel was thrown out of the Trooper. Police later apprehended Lightburn and his passenger Egbert Alarcon of Ladyville and the parcel proved to contain about a kilo of marijuana. The men have been jointly charged with trafficking.
