Williams’ attorney objects to police account of assault

Story Picture
The attorney for Michael Williams, Kirk Anderson, has objected to the police department’s account of an incident involving a minor which resulted in her pressing indecent assault charges. Yesterday Head of C.I.B. Simeon Alvarez told News Five that the twelve year old told police in January that Williams had offered her a ride and had touched her inappropriately while driving. According to Alvarez the child got out of the vehicle and reported the incident to police. Kirk Anderson claims that at no time was his client alone with the girl and that in fact her mother and other relatives, including several children were in the vehicle when the fondling purportedly took place. Anderson says in fact the girl and her family rode with Williams again that same evening with no complaint from the child. Anderson says that the girl did not make a police report until the following day. He also says that at no time did Williams state in Magistrate’s Court that his hand slipped from the steering wheel and he inadvertently touch the child, since he has not even testified in court yet. According to Anderson, so far only the prosecution has made a presentation in court and that the defense has filed a no case submission. Inspector Alvarez has dismissed Anderson’s comments about the case before Magistrate’s Court saying the attorney is just trying to get public sympathy for his client who is a suspect in their investigation into the murder of twelve year old Jackie Fern Malic. Williams was detained by police again yesterday.
