Two Friends Die Together in O.W. Traffic Accident
Two friends perished when the vehicle they were traveling in careened off the San Felipe Road in Trinidad Village, Orange Walk and flipped over several times. The incident happened Saturday night when the pair was returning home. News Five’s Marion Ali reports.

Two friends from Trinidad Village lost their lives sometime after eleven on Saturday night while returning from August Pine Ridge after a few hours of playing pool. At the wheel of this aqua coloured Ford pick-up truck was twenty-one-year-old Santos Blanco. The impact claimed his life and that of twenty-seven-year-old Arnold Tillett. The deaths have left Aldair Blanco mourning the loss of a younger brother and a friend.

“I think they were coming too fast and they must have lost control of the ride me the car turn over. My lee bredda seh he was going to play billiards because he like play billiards and how deh remove all restrictions noh – cause long time he nuh play that. He went to play. He was coming back. They were friends just like me – real friends and he also liked to play that.”
Aldair told us that he saw his brother just hours before he died and that Santos wanted him to accompany them.

“I see my brother da the shop. He tell me mek I go with he too but I tell he I can’t goh because I had things fi do and I had to goh work with my pa do some things soh I neva gone with he. When deh tell me it’s my brother I could not believe it, soh I went there and see ih – still can’t believe it, but (sucks teeth) such is life.”
The Blanco and Tillett families will put their loved ones to rest on Tuesday.

Police indicated today that the friends were flung from the pick-up truck.
