CitCo Hosts Public Meeting to Discuss Concerns over Parking Meters
Since the introduction of a parking meter pilot project earlier this week, business owners and residents in the downtown area, as well as restaurant owners along the entertainment strip, have been up in arms amid concerns that they are losing business. Motorists have been avoiding newly installed parking meters on Albert Street, as well as those that have been erected on Newtown Barracks. The financial impact, according to members of the private sector, is crippling sales and they are blaming the loss in revenue on the Belize City Council. This evening, a public meeting led by Mayor Bernard Wagner, is being held at the House of Culture. We go to News Five’s Isani Cayetano for an update on what’s taking place at the meeting.
