The Pantheon Competition Will Expand to Other Types of Art

The Pantheon Fantastic awards will be given out on April twenty-second to coincide with Earth Day. Judges are looking for quality of work, creativity, and expression. A part of the competition required the artists to come up with their own narrative for their presentation. Young said he was impressed that all the artists decided to do so on their own, rather than partner with a writer to get that part of the work done. Musical artists and others who engage in other types of art can look out for competitions in their field in the future. Dr. Young also thanked two special contributors to this year’s Pantheon Fantastic.

“This is the first year but next year the Belize Pantheon Fantastic may have a different theme, but it will be ongoing every year. We’ll have a new theme and maybe new art forms. So this year it’s paintings, graphics work, another year it could be poems, another year it could be music, another year it could be sculptures, so it could vary from year to year and we will try and build on the success of this year to make it better every year. I would like to mention one person in particular – Gabriel Guerrero from Salient, who is a sponsor but Gabriel has been absolutely amazing in creating this insightful, technically very good (project) and (he’s) just an amazing collaborator. And I must give credit to the Special Envoy, Mrs. Briceño for tying it to Earth Day, which is the twenty-second of April.”

The First prize winner will receive an I-Pod with graphic software, second prize is a Samsung tablet, and third prize is a cell phone. Interested viewers see the art displays at: www.salient360.com\bpf.
