Students compete in St. John’s Pageant
St. John’s Primary School is holding the Miss St. John’s Pageant Wednesday night at the Bliss Institute. Organizers say the pageant will be different this year because the girls will be portraying well known Belizeans such as the late Juliet Soberanis and Beverly Smith Lopez. Coordinator Dotsie Arnold told us about the preparations for the pageant.

“We have been practicing since January and they are well prepared and hyped, eager and determine to show off their costumes and to show the talent part of the program, which will be depicting the outstanding people in the community.”
Janau Grey
“Most people will remember Mrs. Soberanis for her efforts to promote the awareness of all types of cancer. Today I represent that great lady.”
Stephanie Hoare
“If my dream can come true your dream could come true too du-doo. (Laugh) Have a wonderful evening. Thank you.”
Funds raised from tomorrow night’s pageant will be used to buy a television and VCR to replace the ones stolen from the school last December.
