Corozal Man Found Dead in Abandoned House

A man from Corozal was found dead in an abandoned house in Chunox. Reports are that the body was found on Tuesday morning and later identified as nineteen-year-old Angel Gabriel Baptist, a fisherman of the village.  His bicycle was also found at the house with damage to the frame and scrapes on the side. Police investigations indicate Baptist had returned from a fishing trip and began to socialize with his brother-in-law at a shop. They reportedly got into a fight over money.  Baptist left the fight, but it resumed sometime later at the brother-in-law’s house and the two had to be separated.  He left for home, but may have gone out again. That was the last time he was seen alive. Police are investigating.
