Murder suspect escapes
She was gunned down in her shop on Freetown Road on Tuesday and tonight police have charged one man with Yang Li Chan’s murder. Unfortunately, their other suspect has managed to disappear from right under their noses.
Three days after the hold up and shooting death of Chinese businesswoman, twenty-eight year old Yang Li Chan at the De He Li Grocery Shop on Freetown Road, the police have formally charged Michael “Mister T” Bodden in connection with the crime.
A.I.P. Simeon Alvarez, Head of C.I.B.
“Sometime around three thirty p.m. we have formally arrested and charged Dean Bodden, “Mister T,” from number 24 Hunter’s Lane. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder, dangerous harm, robbery, use of deadly means of harm and conspiracy.”
According to A.I.P. Simeon Alvarez, Head of C.I.B., Bodden will be jointly charged with Andrew “Outlaw” or “Sweetie Law” Kelly.
Alavrez says Kelly was identified as the triggerman by the victim’s sister who witnessed the shooting and was also hit across the face with a bottle. But several hours after police had Kelly in their custody on Wednesday, the accused killer somehow managed to escape from the police lock-up at the Raccoon Police Station.

“What happen is that he was at the lock down cell at Raccoon Street and according to information obtained from other inmates who were in the cell with him, he managed to escape from a locked cell sometime between two and three yesterday morning.”
The police are now asking the general public for their help in recapturing the wanted man. Kelly is said to be five feet, eight inches in height, brown complexion. Kelly can also be identified by a cut that is between his index finger on the left hand. He has a tattoo with the words “I Love Judith” on his left arm. Alvarez says at this time the police have also been unable to locate the weapon used in the crime but he believes the evidence they have is strong enough for a conviction.

“At this time I wouldn’t really want to comment on the evidence that we have but definitely we have strong supporting evidence to link Bodden along with Andrew Kelly for that brutal slaying of the Chinese businesswoman.”
Q: “Witnesses report seeing only one man fleeing from the grocery shop, should we now understand that two men were in the grocery shop?”
A.I.P. Simeon Alvarez
“Well at this time I would not really want to comment whether it was only one man who entered or if it was both of them but the evidence we have at this time definitely, this fellow did play a role in that robbery.”

Yang Li Chan’s family and friends are asking the public to help them bring the killers to justice. They have sent pictures of Andrew Kelly to all of the newspapers and TV stations in the hope that someone will see the suspect and contact police. Commissioner Ornel Brooks is expected to hold a press conference on Monday.
