Murder in Armenia: a Watchman is Killed inside a Classroom

A trio of young men, including a sixteen-year-old minor, is in police custody after being charged for the murder of a watchman that took place on Holy Thursday in Armenia Village. The lifeless body of Oscar Chiac was discovered by a colleague inside a classroom at Armenia Government School on Good Friday. It is reported that Chiac, who had been drinking prior to reporting to work that evening, had been involved in an altercation with three individuals. When his body was found the following morning, a steel rod was also discovered at the scene. Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood, has confirmed that twenty-three-year-old Jeremio Xol and twenty-year-old Barnabe Xol have been arrested and charged along with a teenager for the crime of murder

“On Friday, about 9:50 a.m., police received a report of an apparent murder in Armenia Village. When police visited the scene they found Oscar Chiac, a thirty-three-year-old Belizean watchman, in a crouched position on the second floor of one of the buildings at the Armenia Government School. Our investigations so far reveal that Chiac left for work about four p.m. on Thursday, the fourteenth, where he was to work on until midnight on Friday but was seen in Armenia Village apparently drinking where he got into an argument with three young men. We believe that these men, well they were charged for his apparent murder. His body was discovered on Friday by the principal of that school because she said that she received a report from him that one of the classrooms were opened and he couldn’t get access to close it. The watchman that took over at midnight is claiming that he couldn’t find Chiac to take over from him, but he didn’t search that particular building where the body was discovered. Police found a knapsack and a steel rod next to the body that they believe was the murder weapon. On Sunday, police charged a sixteen-year-old minor and [Jeremio] Xol, twenty-three years old, and Bernabe Xol, twenty years old, for the murder of Oscar Chiac.”
