Arts Council offers music classes

Story Picture
The Belize Arts Council will offer music classes to the general public starting April tenth to June twenty-sixth. We visited the Arts Council this afternoon and found out more about the classes.

Luis Chan, Belize Arts Council

“The music classes are free first of all. And it’s an invitation to all ages and for beginners; we want to start at age ten or twelve. The flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone and the instruments of a brass band.”

Q: “Why would you encourage people in general to come out and play these instruments?”

Luis Chan

“O.K. this particular program is named, “Yes you can” because it’s a constructive program that they could get involve in something constructive. Music is something that is used in very special ways and how they can do it and how they can strive and how they can get something constructive in their lives.”

The classes will be held at the Bliss Institute on Saturday mornings from ten to twelve noon followed by band practices from one to four in the evening.
