Woman dies following robbery
She clung to life for twenty-four hours, but today Yang Lee Chan died at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital from the gunshot wound inflicted by a cold-blooded killer. Lee Chan was shot in the forehead during a robbery at her family’s shop on Freetown Road just before noon yesterday. Area residents say they only heard a scream and then Lee Chan was seen on the ground bleeding profusely. She and her sister Yeng Wen Chan were in the shop when a man approached and demanded money. Witnesses say they saw a man running out of the shop and that he dropped the cash drawer in his attempt to flee. Yesterday police apprehended Dean “Mr. T” Bodden and Lincoln “Kilo Boy” Allen. Allen had just arrived in Caye Caulker handed himself in to police when he heard he was being sought. Today police picked up Andrew “Outlaw” Kelly who they believe can assist with the investigation. They are also asking for members of the public who have any information about the brutal slaying to come forward. Simon Quan, President of the Belize Chinese Association, told News Five they will be meeting next week to discuss this latest murder and the recent robberies at Chinese establishments.
