Victim Blaming Often Follows Abuse
Public opinion and pressure can also hinder the ability of women and girls to seek help when they are abused. People often make derogatory remarks, frequently about the way someone is dressed. But, Michelle Irving says what a woman wears doe not entitle men to commit abuse, and victim blaming is never helpful.
