Who Will Be the Next Miss Earth Belize?

Earlier today, Miss Earth 2021 Destiny Wagner was asked about the process of selected a new candidate that will represent Belize in the Miss Earth 2022. There is a new director at the helm of the organization, following what Wagner has categorized on social media as a bad experience and having suffered in silence. But as Wagner said today, she is confident of the process and experience going forward.

“We do have a new director for Miss Earth Belize. And, I’m really excited because Belize made history. And I think that we should be able to continue the momentum. With new leadership and development, I think that we have a great chance of getting a back-to-back, and continuing to promote Belize in the best way possible.”

From the experience that you had, do you think the new director will make a difference in helping young women not go through what you had to go through when it was your time in the pageant?

Destiny Wagner

“Absolutely, I don’t think anyone should go through what I went through. I did suffer in silence. But, at the end of the day, it was for a good cause. It was for my country and I love my country. So, I would do it again in a heartbeat. But for this industry, you have to be willing to help young ladies. And as an ambassador of Belize, you have to be willing to share your experience and to share your knowledge and to make sure that the girl coming after you gets the things you didn’t have, the resources that you didn’t have. So, I’m really happy for the pageant, and I’m really happy to be a role model and to help the next generation of beauty ambassadors in Belize because I know that I have great intentions. The new director, Ms. Shameka, she has great intention. We’re gonna promote self-love and friendship and sisterhood and bonding, that’s what pageantry is about.”
