PM Clarifies Confusion over Fire Station Land
But while the National Fire Service is celebrating its strides, there is one issue that came up on Saturday that could have caused confusion. Anibal Martinez, a man who has been a caretaker of a private property some at least three decades, told News Five that he has been cleaning the parcel of land where the new fire station will go and had applied for the parcel of land. But the land is Crown land that has been designated for the fire station. We found out about the concern after the officials had left and asked Fire Chief Colin Gillett about it.

“He’ll have to take that up with the lands ministry because this is the plot that they told us to use. He needs to take it up with the relevant authorities for that part because this was the land that was identified, and then we came and put up our sign.”
Prime Minister Briceño later told us that he is sure that Area Representative, Ramon Cervantes will sort out the matter for Mr. Martinez.
