Police officer threatened

In other police news, a police constable says a car attempted to run him down Wednesday evening on Mosul Street. Fortunato Noble told police he was riding his bicycle towards Cemetery Road when a black Mercedes Benz came up from behind and swerved at him. Noble says he was corned by a parked vehicle and had nowhere to go. He says that Karl Dennison and his girlfriend Carla Encalada where in the black car. Noble says he recognized Dennison as someone whose home he and Dragon Unit officers had searched earlier this week looking for drugs. He says Dennison threatened him and then allowed him to move off. Following his report to his superiors, Dennison and Encalada were taken into custody. Dennison appeared in Magistrate’s Court this afternoon and was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Encalada was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated assault. They were both offered bail in the sum of three thousand five hundred dollars and a surety of the same amount. Up to newstime, neither had met bail. They will appear in court on April thirteenth.
