Contract signed for highway renovation
Cisco Construction has been awarded a contract for the improvement of forty miles of the Southern Highway. The contract was signed yesterday by Minister of Works Henry Canton and John Woods of Cisco Construction. Work on sections four and five of the highway, which extend from the junction to Mango Creek and mile six on the Hummingbird, will include the widening of the embankment, eight new bridges, and resurfacing. The work, which will cost an estimated fifty million dollars, is being jointly funded by the International Co-operation Development Fund, I.C.D.F., the Inter-American Development Bank and the Government of Belize.
