P.M. urges people to buy Belizean
The Prime Minister took his government’s “Buy Belizean” campaign on the road this weekend when he attended the opening of the Chan Pine Ridge Agricultural and Trade Show. He toured the many booths and even purchased a bottle of honey from one of the stalls. During his opening remarks, the Prime Minister told the farmers the “Buy Belizean” campaign is designed to bolster many areas of the economy including the agricultural sector. He says Belizeans must begin to support local growers.
Said Musa, Prime Minister
“We have embarked on a vigorous “Buy Belize” campaign and you may have heard it on the radio and seen it on the television. This is a campaign by Belize in an attempt to provide our farmers with access to a more developed domestic market in order to keep our dollars at home and promote food security. As much as possible we must eat what we produce and produce what we eat. In agriculture a lot has been done but much more is left to be done. Today I want to congratulate all of you who have worked quietly and diligently to make this show a success. The government and people of Belize are encouraged by your hard work and dedication.”
