Barrow says U.D.P. did well
Today the Leader of the Opposition, Dean Barrow said he has nothing but appreciation for Patrick Faber and all the new U.D.P. candidates who took on the challenge of running for a party which had just suffered such a stunning defeat. He says the results do indeed show that the U.D.P. is a viable party and not going to simply disintegrate.

“The pundits, one of whom in particular, but who will remain nameless, certainly was saying on LOVE FM that wow, that it will be 9,000 total votes for the P.U.P. and 2,000 for the U.D.P.
Given that this is just six months after August; given that the government won such a massive majority six months ago; given that we have in several constituencies on the southside, certainly in Queen’s Square increased our margins and in other constituencies cut down the gap so tremendously, we have to feel good about what has happened.”
Barrow says the U.D.P.’s next move is to establish divisional officers in those areas of Belize City presently lacking them to put their political machinery in running order. He says although the next City Council election is four years away, there are still the town board elections to work towards.
