Mayor Issues Gifts to Councilors for Mother’s Day

Speaking about finding that perfect gift for your mother, Mayor Bernard Wagner today issued mother’s day gifts to those women city councilors who are mothers. He shares that while his mother is not with him at this time, he always wants to give back in her honor.

“I just gave Mother’s Day cheers and a small gift to my councilors that are mothers – that is Deyannie Requeña, Stephanne Hamilton as well as Natasha. I gave some of my staff members that are mothers on the third floor and we do have some cakes and other goodies for some of our mothers here. Mother’s Day is special for many people, especially for me. I lost my mom many years ago in 2013 so being able to recognize your mother is very important. Personally for me, it gets me all emotional, because my mother and I were very close.”
