Pregnant woman beaten during robbery attempt
A pregnant woman was beaten during a robbery attempt this morning on Central American Boulevard. Vinith White, an employee at S.J.C. Sixth Form cafeteria, told News Five she was walking to work early this morning and as she was about to cross the boulevard, a young man walked up to her and punched her in the stomach. White, who is eight and a half months pregnant, said after she fell to the ground, the man then tried to grab her bag. But the young lady was in no mood to accommodate her would-be robber. White said she struggled with the man on the ground until a passerby came to her rescue. Although the attacker did managed to get away, he did so empty-handed. When we spoke with White she said she would be going to see her doctor after work to ensure the baby is okay. No arrest has been made.
