Another accident at round-a-bout
There was yet another accident at a traffic round-a-bout which was intended to improve the flow of vehicles approaching the city. Two men Edward King and Michael Tesecum were taken to the K.H.M.H. after falling out of a pickup truck this morning around mile two. Police say around 9 o’clock Orthon Coleman was driving up the Northern Highway towards a mile eight worksite with six workmen in the back of the pickup. However, as Coleman entered the round-a-bout a dump truck coming from the Coral Grove area, also heading north hit the pickup. Coleman reports he made a hard left while trying to avoid the collision and the motion caused King and Tesecum to fall out of the truck. The other men in the pickup told police that the man driving the dump truck did not even stop to render assistance. Police say they are now looking for the driver of the dump truck and say the only clue they have is that the truck is black and white. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call police. King and Tesecum were not seriously injured but taken to the hospital for treatment. Last month a taxi driver was killed when a water delivery truck ran off the highway and onto the pavement near the round-a-bout.
