Friend charged with child’s death

The body of thirteen year old Becky Gilharry was found Monday near an archeological site at Santa Rita Hill in the Corozal District. Police now say they have the man they feel is responsible for her death. On Sunday Isolene Gilharry reported that her daughter left home to make a call at a nearby phone booth accompanied by an acquaintance of the family, twenty-two year old Robert Hill. A few hours later however, Hill reportedly returned to Gilharry’s residence alone. When asked where Becky was, he claimed he did not know. The next day Becky’s body was found. Today a postmortem revealed she died from asphyxia. Hill has been charged with murder.
